In short
To choose a senior dating site, check who runs it, what you can do for free, what membership costs and how it renews, how to cancel, what name appears on your card statement, who can see your profile and what the site checks. Just Senior Singles answers each of these on its own pages, and this guide shows where.
| First check | The company named in the terms |
|---|---|
| Money check | What a trial turns into, and when |
| Cancel check | Find the cancel steps before you pay |
| Privacy check | Who else can see your profile |
| Safety check | What is and isn't verified |
Dating sites for people over 50 can look alike from the front page: smiling couples, a sunny beach, a big button. The differences that matter are further in, in the prices, the terms and the small print about who sees your profile. Here are nine questions to ask any site, and how Just Senior Singles answers each one.

1. Who runs it?
A trustworthy site tells you which company operates it, where that company is registered and which country's law applies. You'll usually find this in the terms or on an "About" page. If you can't find a company name at all, be cautious.
Our answer: Just Senior Singles is run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation. Our About page and key facts give the full details.
2. What can you do for free?
"Free to join" can mean anything from a fully working site to a locked shop window. Find out exactly what free members can do: build a profile, browse, see who's interested, send messages, read replies.
Our answer: Joining, making a profile, browsing and saying hello are free. Reading and replying to messages, and seeing who has liked or viewed you, need a paid membership.
3. What does it cost, and how does it renew?
Look for prices you can see before you give a card number, and check what happens when your membership ends. Most dating memberships renew automatically, which is convenient if you're enjoying it and an unwelcome surprise if you'd forgotten.
Trials deserve a second look. The FTC's advice on free trials and auto-renewals is to find the terms before you sign up, including how long the trial lasts and how to cancel, to watch for pre-checked boxes, and to mark the cancellation deadline on your calendar.
Our answer: These are the current Just Senior Singles prices:
| Join, create a profile, browse | Free |
|---|---|
| Read and reply to messages | Paid membership |
| 1 week | $12.99 |
| 1 month | $24.99 a month |
| 3-day trial | $2.99, then $24.99 a month |
| Optional extras | Profile boosts, priority messages, a 24-hour pass, an ID-verified badge |
US prices as shown in the members area on 16 October 2026; the members area shows the exact price before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. The checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your card statement.
Memberships, including the trial, renew automatically until you cancel. Our prices page explains renewal and the optional extras.
4. How do you cancel and delete your account?
You should be able to stop paying without phoning anyone or hunting through menus. Deleting your profile should be just as simple, and it's a separate step from cancelling.
Our answer: Cancel in Settings > Billing. To delete your account altogether, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.
A good habit with any subscription, from the FTC: keep a copy of your cancellation, check your next statement, and if you're charged after cancelling, contact the company in writing and then your card company.
5. What will show on your card statement?
Many dating companies bill under a different name from the site. That's common and not sinister, but it's worth knowing in advance so you recognize the charge.
Our answer: The checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your statement before you pay. Payments across our partner network go through a checkout called Dating Foundry, so you may see that name.
6. Who can see your profile?
Some sites keep profiles to themselves. Others share them across a group of sites, so people who joined elsewhere can see and message you. Neither is wrong, but you should know which you're signing up for.
Our answer: Just Senior Singles shares profiles with partner sites in the same network. Members of those sites can see and message you, and each profile shows which site the member joined from.
7. What does the site actually check?
Checking photos is not the same as checking identity, and no site can check whether people tell the truth about themselves. Be wary of any site that says every profile is "verified" without explaining how.
Our answer: Every photo is reviewed. What members write about themselves isn't checked. Members can add an optional ID badge by confirming their identity with LEM Verify (a photo ID and a selfie); some sign-ups must do this, for example if they join through a VPN or an account is flagged. A badge shows that someone's ID matched their selfie. It doesn't show that they're honest, so the usual care still applies.
8. Who is it really for?
A site built for over-50s should feel like it: readable text, plain language and help with the technology. But be realistic about who you'll meet, because most sites accept any adult.
Our answer: Just Senior Singles is made for people over 50, but any adult can join: 18 and over, or 21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming. Check someone's age on their profile before you write.
9. Does it take safety seriously?
Good sites explain romance scams clearly, tell you how to report a profile and point you to the official place to report fraud in your country. The FBI's advice is to stick to dating sites with well-known reputations, and to stop all contact if you suspect an online relationship is a scam.
Our answer: Our safety page and the guide to romance scams aimed at people over 50 cover the warning signs and where to report in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
General sites or an over-50s site?
You're not unusual if you're trying a dating site for the first time. In a Pew Research Center survey in July 2022, 17% of Americans aged 50 and older said they had ever used a dating site or app. The choice is usually between a big general site and one made for your age group.
| Item | General dating site | Over-50s dating site |
|---|---|---|
| Size of the pool | Usually larger | Usually smaller |
| Ages you'll see | Many members much younger | Most at a similar stage of life |
| Help and advice | Written for everyone | Written with older daters in mind |
| Suits | Cities, wide age ranges, broad tastes | People who want to skip the scrolling |
If you live in a small town, a site that shares profiles across a network can help widen the pool. If you're in a city, an over-50s site can save you a lot of time.
Promises to be wary of
Whichever site you're looking at, take care with:
- Promises of a set number of matches or dates
- "Every profile verified" or "100% genuine members" with no explanation of how
- Big member numbers you can't check
- Prices you can only see after entering card details
- Pre-checked boxes that add extras at checkout
- No company name, address or terms
Try before you pay
The best test of any site is to use it for free for a week. Build a profile, browse, see who's near you and how the site feels. If you like what you see, pay for the shortest membership first, and put the renewal date in your calendar. How it works walks through each step on Just Senior Singles.

Questions people ask
Are free senior dating sites any good?
Some are fine, but every site has to pay its bills somehow, usually through advertising, paid upgrades or both. "Free to join" often means free to look, with messaging paid. Whatever you choose, read what free members can actually do, and check the terms on billing and privacy before you give a card number.
How can I tell if a dating site is legitimate?
Look for a named company with a registered address in the terms, prices you can see before paying, a clear way to cancel online, and honest wording about what is checked. Be wary of sites that promise a number of matches or dates, claim every profile is genuine without explaining how, or hide the company behind a contact form.
Should I join more than one dating site?
You can, but it's easier to keep track of conversations on one or two. Some sites share profiles across a network, so joining two sites from the same group may show you the same people twice. Try one for free for a week or two before adding another, and keep a note of what each charges and when it renews.
What should I check before starting a dating site trial?
Find out exactly what the trial becomes when it ends, what it will cost then, and how to cancel. The FTC advises reading the terms, watching for pre-checked boxes and marking the cancellation deadline on your calendar. If you're charged after cancelling, contact the company in writing and then your card company.
Is a site made for over-50s better than a general dating site?
Not for everyone. A general site has more members, but many are younger and you may scroll a long time to find people your age. An over-50s site has a smaller pool where most people share your stage of life, and its help pages are written with you in mind. Many people try one of each.
