In short

Just Senior Singles is a dating site for people over 50, run by High Intent Media Inc. Joining, writing a profile, browsing and saying hello are free. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, which renews automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, so their members can see and message you.

Free and paid at a glance

Most of the site is free to use. You only pay when you want to read and reply to messages. Here's the split:

Step 1: Sign up

Signing up takes a couple of minutes at the members area, members.justseniorsingles.com. The form asks for an email address, a password and your date of birth. Use an email address you check, because account messages and password resets go there.

You need to be at least 18 to join, or 21 if you live in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska or Wyoming. The site is written for people over 50, but it doesn't stop younger adults from joining, so check a member's age on their profile before you write.

Step 2: Write your profile and add photos

Your profile is a short introduction: who you are, what you enjoy and what you're hoping to find. It costs nothing, and you can change it whenever you like. Our guide to writing a dating profile over 50 has examples and a simple structure.

You can also fill in details such as the age range and distance you're looking for, religion, languages, whether you have children, and whether you smoke or drink. Be honest here: these are what other members use to find you.

Every photo is reviewed before it appears, and the rules don't allow nudity or lingerie. Taking good profile photos explains how to get a natural picture with a phone.

Step 3: Browse and say hello

Once your profile is up, you can look through other members and say hello without paying. There's no deadline, and nothing renews while you're on a free account. Take your time and get a feel for who's there.

Step 4: Pay when you want to talk

A paid membership is what lets you read and reply to messages. You can choose a week, a month or a short trial. These are the current prices:

What it costs

Who can see you: the partner network

Just Senior Singles is part of a network of dating sites that share one member database. In practice:

  • Members who joined a partner site can see your profile and send you messages.
  • You can see and message members who joined a partner site.
  • Every profile shows which site that member originally joined.

This gives you more people to meet, but not everyone you see will have joined a site for over-50s. If age matters to you, check it on the profile before you write.

What gets checked, and what doesn't

Every photo is reviewed. What members write about themselves, including their age, job and location, is not checked by anyone. An optional ID badge shows that a member verified their identity with LEM Verify, using a photo ID and a selfie. It's a paid extra for most people, and only required in some cases, for example a sign-up through a VPN or a flagged account.

A badge is a good sign, not a promise. Whatever a profile says, never send money to someone you've met online. Our safety page covers the warning signs.

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

Just Senior Singles suits people over 50 who want a relationship or companionship, would like to look around before paying, and are happy to take things at their own pace. It suits people less well if they want someone checked out for them, or only want to see members who joined an over-50s site, because the network is shared.

Leaving

To stop paying, cancel in Settings > Billing; your membership won't renew. To remove your profile completely, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account. If you can't get in, see login help.

Questions people ask

Can people on other sites see my profile?

Yes. Just Senior Singles shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so their members can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs. Each profile shows which site the member originally joined from, which helps if you only want to talk to people who chose an over-50s site.

Do I have to verify my ID?

Usually not. ID verification, done by LEM Verify with a photo ID and a selfie, is an optional paid badge for most members. It is only required in some cases, such as signing up through a VPN or when an account has been flagged for review. A badge shows an ID matched a face, not that someone is honest.

Can I read messages without paying?

No. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership. So do read receipts, seeing who has viewed or liked your profile, and viewing photos in full. A free account lets you join, build a profile, browse and say hello, so you can judge the site before spending anything.

What will I see on my card statement?

The checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your statement before you pay. Make a note of it, so a charge you made yourself doesn't look like fraud a month later. Memberships renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel in Settings > Billing.

Can I use the site outside the United States?

Yes. Just Senior Singles is written first for the US, but members also join from the UK, Canada, Australia and several other countries. The safety advice on this site lists the official place to report a scam in each of those four countries.
